Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947) - Russian artist, mystic philosopher, writer, traveler, archaeologist, public figure.

He created about 7000 paintings, many of which are in famous galleries around the world, and about 30 literary works.

From 1924 to 1928 he made an expedition to Asia, including Altai, Mongolia, Tibet. Research was carried out in the field of archeology, ethnography, rare manuscripts were found, and linguistic materials were collected. Roerich created a unique image of Altai.
