On May 31, 2016, a monument to Efim Slavsky, a state and party leader, was erected in Belokurikha, thanks to whose efforts the city acquired its modern look.

The monument was erected in the very center of the resort area near the Belokurikha sanatorium. The monument was made by the sculptor Eduard Dobrovolsky from steel and copper.

Efim Slavsky (1898 - 1991) - statesman and party leader, three times Hero of Socialist Labor (1949, 1954 and 1962). One of the leaders of the project for the creation of Soviet nuclear weapons, the head of the Soviet atomic industry. Minister of Medium Machine Building of the USSR, with whose support they built a modern resort in Altai - Belokurikha.
