Monument to John Lennon is the only one in the world made in marble. The musician stands on a vinyl record flowing down, next to him - a guitar, a microphone, below - a giant beetle. On the back is a stylized piano, next to which is a portrait of the widow of the avant-garde musician Yoko Ono.
The sculptor Vladimir Voichishin made the monument in his characteristic surrealistic manner. The main character of the sculpture is depicted in rags - the clothes of Christ. The Beatles once announced that they were more popular than Christ, and the Vatican cursed them for this (and only the last Pope forgave). That is why the sculptor made Lennon in the robe of Jesus Christ.
