Museum of the history of stone-cutting in Altaiopened in 1988 next toKolyvan stone-cutting plant named after I.I. Polzunova, in the historical building of the drawing school (1876), which is an architectural monument of regional significance.

Museum exhibits revealstages of development of stone cutting in Altai, the history of the village of Kolyvan. In the halls of the museum there are items of Kolyvan residents (pottery, a hand mill, clothes, photographs), products of Kolyvan stone-cutters, a unique collection of drawings by students of the drawing class of the Kolyvan private school, award medals from international exhibitions of 1851 and 1862.

The gem of the collection iscameo "Rodomysl"from allied jasper. This is a repetition of the front side of F.P. Tolstoy, made by him in honor of the victory of Russia in the Patriotic War and in honor of the foreign campaigns of the Russian army in 1813-1814. Also, the exposition of the museum introduces the history of creation, transportation and placement"Queen of the vases"(1843) from green-wavy Ravnevskaya jasper weighing 19.5 tons, adorning the Hermitage hall (St. Petersburg). The modern products of the Kolyvan stone-cutting plant named after V.I. I.I. Polzunova: mosaic panels using the Florentine mosaic technique, vases, cups, writing instruments, a souvenir row.
