The museum of the resort, created in 1996, received the municipal status and the name of the famous Altai scientist Stepan Gulyaev less than ten years later. It is located in a pre-war building of a radon hospital. The exposition of the museum, in the fund of which there are more than 8 thousand exhibits, is devoted to the details of the emergence and development of Belokurikha as a resort, the peculiarities of local therapeutic factors and the specifics of Belokurikha sanatoriums.
Here you can see the logs that were once used for taking baths, and a model of a hydro-mineral deposit of thermal waters. There is an ethnographic collection and a selection of documents about "Artek", evacuated to Belokurikha during the war years. During the author's excursions around the museum and the vicinity of the resort, legends and tales about these places, collected by the museum workers, are heard.
