Art complex "Turina Gora"

st. Dimitrova, 85-a (at the intersection with Socialist Ave.)

The salon-shop and gallery under the brand name "Turina Gora" belong to the enterprise of the same name, which has been producing original art ceramics since 1988. This is the only large center of handicraft production in Siberia.

In a special Turinogorian style, craftsmen manually glaze dishes, panels, vases, small interior and garden and park sculptures. The painting features recognizable Scythian-Siberian motives of the era of early nomads, Slavic and Asian ornaments, landscapes and architectural landmarks. Before firing, picturesque items made of faience, majolica and chamotte clay are decorated by the Turinogoreans by scratching with a needle. Most of them are created in a single copy. Turinogorsk ceramics are exhibited at large-scale Russian and foreign exhibitions, and are sold to private collections.

The "Turina Gora" salon is replete with memorable souvenirs about Altai, decorative items and adornments from natural materials, amulets and designer toys. The high level of performance is distinguished by representative gifts, paintings and graphics. In addition to the artists and artisans of the region, the salon presents well-known crafts of Russia.

Since 2002, the first private gallery in Barnaul has been opened on the basis of the salon - a chamber space in which up to a dozen expositions change a year. Their peculiarity is that Turinogorsk masters create unique ceramic works for each painting exhibition. The gallery organizes charity exhibitions and performances. The collected funds are donated by the owners of the art space Vladimir and Ekaterina Moskvitin to the needs of socially unprotected children.

The Barnaul center for the production of artistic ceramics is named after an archaeological site from the vicinity of Barnaul, not far from which Moskvitin's workshop took clay. Fragments of primitive pottery kilns for burning, dating back to the Iron Age, and unique ceramics were found by archaeologists during excavations in a landslide zone on the high bank of the Ob River near the settlement of Turin Gora (Leninsky District, beyond Kosmonavtov Ave., near the meat-packing plant).
