The things, clothes and utensils donated to the museum by the population made it possible to reconstruct the rural home interior of the middle of the last century. Antique furniture is complemented by surviving dishes and icons, textiles "from grandmother's chest", towels, napkins and tablecloths made by village craftsmen. Soviet paraphernalia - flags and badges, a collection of stamps convey the spirit of a bygone era.

Large museum sections are devoted to the events of the revolution, the Civil and Great Patriotic War, the history of the partisan movement during the Kolchak era. Photos and documents from home archives are included in albums dedicated to the history of the village Bystry Istok and famous fellow countrymen.

The museum organizes monthly exhibitions and expositions, both from the museum funds and from private collections. Excursions, events are held.
